Government:
A president who is popularly elected for a four-year renewable term heads the executive branch. The country is a multiparty republic. Liberia has a bicameral legislature, which consists of a 26-seat senate and a 64-seat house of representatives. Liberia has a two legal system. The first based on Anglo-American common law for the modern sector and the second based on customary tribal law for the indigenous sector. The country is divided into 13 counties.
